International Women's Day: Reflecting on Progress and Paving the Way Forward
Whether you're just beginning your career or have been leading organizations for years, we all have the power to make meaningful impacts. Imagine a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination—a world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, where differences are valued and celebrated.
“Did you know International Women's Day has been celebrated for over a century yet many of the issues that hinder women's progress are still prevalent today?”
MY JOURNEY
Throughout my Financial Services recruiting career, I’ve encountered countless challenges, many of which shaped me into the leader I am today. Early on, I had to prove myself in a competitive market where every success required hard work and persistence. But rather than letting barriers hold me back, I embraced them. I did this because I knew every obstacle was a stepping stone on the path to career freedom and greater success for myself, my team, and the clients we partner with. I am so proud to help career seekers across the country explore new opportunities and empower individuals to reach their full potential.
Launching WayPoint Consulting Partners was one of the biggest leaps outside of my comfort zone, but it was also one of the most rewarding. Over the past year, I’ve taken several bold steps forward that honestly scared me, but I pushed through anyway. Some of these include participating in TV interviews, podcasts, and networking events, speaking at conferences, exploring new marketing campaigns, making tough decisions regarding client relationships, and sharing my experience and knowledge in the book
Beyond The Broker: Navigating Financial Advisory Independence,
and these are just a few among other really fun experiences. I won’t lie—building a business from the ground up came with its own set of challenges, from navigating business development and marketing to managing client relations. But it also gave me a sense of purpose and fulfillment that only entrepreneurship can offer. The courage to take that step was inspired by the strong, resilient men and women who paved the way before me, and by my passion to help others do the same. I am grateful for mentors who guided me along the way. As I continue to help companies find the right talent and assist career seekers in discovering exciting new opportunities, I’m thankful for the support and connections I’ve made throughout this journey.

What Self-Worth Means to Me
Judy Hoberman, Executive Coach, Innovator, and Leader, recently asked me to contribute my thoughts on self-worth for her International Women’s Day project. I decided to include some of that piece in this blog because it is such an important topic. I believe self-worth is the intrinsic belief that I am valuable, capable, and deserving of respect and success, irrespective of external validations or accomplishments. Self-worth is the compass that guides my decisions, the shield against self-doubt, and the foundation of my confidence. As a woman navigating the complexities of business, leadership, and life, self-worth has been both a teacher and a transformative force. In the early stages of my journey, my self-worth often wavered, influenced by societal expectations and a desire to meet others' standards. However, for those who need a reminder, I hope you'll read these words and agree that true self-worth comes from within—it's the quiet yet unwavering belief in my abilities and the understanding that setbacks do not diminish my value.
A Time of Reflection
International Women’s Day invites us to reflect on our achievements as women (and the achievements of others), but it’s also an opportunity to recognize work that still needs to be done. As we celebrate the progress we’ve made, we must also push for continued change. Women, especially women in leadership roles, play an essential part in driving innovation, diversity, and success in every industry. At WayPoint Consulting Partners, we take pride in supporting everyone in their career journey. Whether it’s helping Financial Services professionals find new roles, negotiating for better opportunities, or providing mentorship, our mission is to foster a diverse, inclusive workforce where everyone has the chance to succeed. This International Women’s Day, I stand in solidarity with women across the globe and celebrate everyone's unique contributions.
As we continue to navigate the challenges of today’s ever-evolving workplace, I am committed to working outside my comfort zone, leading by example, and ensuring the clients I partner with are empowered to achieve their fullest potential. To all the incredible women I’ve had the honor of working with, mentoring, and learning from: thank you for your strength, courage, and determination. Your achievements inspire me every day, and I am proud to celebrate with you on this very special day.
📌 BLOG CONCLUSION:
This International Women's Day, let's come together to celebrate the achievements of women everywhere, honor their contributions, and continue to challenge the status quo to build a more inclusive and equal future for all.
